Required Documents for Collectors Association In the following order
- Collector’s application.
- Copy of ID book.
- Copy of membership card and or proof that membership is paid in full to Lowveld Hunters Association as the membership number is required.
- Motivation - A prescribed word document (Motivation) that must be completed on computer and emailed to both the relevant branch coordinator and the collector’s chairman. A full motivation to become a private collector plus any printed material to substantiate your claim to be considered a private collector, to substantiate your claim as stated. (See NAACCSA June 2006 - Description of the Historical, Scientific, Technological, Heritage, Educational, Cultural or Artistic aspects). For a guideline see attached example. (Please do not change/alter the format or font of the motivation)
- Licensed Firearms schedule.
- Copy of all firearm licenses, those for private defence, hunting, sport shooting and collectors. It is advisable to approach SAPS to obtain a print out of all licenses on your name which will enable you to establish and confirm current and if any previous firearms which you have sold have been removed from your name.
- Copy of learner achievement certificate and or competency card.
- Copy of Bona Fida Collector / Hunter / Sportsman certificates.
- Code of Conduct.
- Disciplinary Code.
- Two (2) letters of reference from existing members of the Association which must include their contact details. (Proposer and Seconder).
All documents must be completed and where relevant be signed by applicant as well as the proposer and seconder by existing members of the Association.
No application will or can be considered if the above documentation is not completed and presented.

An interview will be conducted and the cost will be as follows:
R100.00 – annual membership for collector
R150.00 – interview and administration costs.
R250.00 in total
