Urgent message to Lowveld Hunter Members:
Renewal of Competancy Certificates
The following directive from CFR has reference:
"From the 10th January 2011, all persons whose competency certificates are up for renewal must apply at local police station within 90 days of the expiry date. That means between 11 January and 11 April 2011 after which time, if they have not applied for renewal, they will be prosecuted. Given the fact that there are people whose competencies have already expired, this policy announcement is meant to allow such affected people to also make use of this renewal process"
All members whose Competancy Certificates expired or are about to expire need to apply on the SAPS form 517(g) for renewal of Competancy Certificates.
If your Competancy Certificate already expired, you only have untill 11 April 2011 to renew - only one month left!
All other members should diarise the date 90 days prior to their Competancy Certificates would expire - This date is your final date to apply for renewal of your Competancy Certificates.
Further info:
If you already applied for renewal on the old 517 form, your application will still be accepted by SAPS. There is no need to reapply on the 517[g] for this round.
If you have more than one Competancy Certificate, you may apply to combine all die competancies on one Certificate, but the application should be made 90 days prior to the firsty Competancy Certificate expiry date.
